MIDLAND ALARM SERVICES FAQ'S
Why does my alarm need servicing? Because of battery deterioration and general wear of the equipment. The battery usually last between 2 and 3 years, after which time it will not support the system adequately, we will replace your battery free of charge when we service your Alarm System. It may also be a requirement of your insurance company to have a regularly maintained system. They will often discount your premium if you obtain a maintenance contract.
Can my alarm system be expanded? Yes additional door, window or movement sensors can be fitted into garages, conservatories etc. Wireless sensors can be used if running cables is a problem.
Could a dialler be connected to my alarm system? Yes a telephone dialler can be connected to your phone line and will call up to four telephone numbers, including mobiles if the alarm is triggered.
I have a pet, can I still set my alarm? Yes your movement sensors can be replaced with digital "pet immune" sensors which will ignore cats and dogs but still sense human intruders.
I have lost my code or need to change it. No problem, the code can be reset by a service engineer.
I'm not sure how to use my alarm/how to set it when I go to bed. No problem, our service engineers can provide you with a manual and show you how it works.
The speaker is too loud when I set or unset the alarm, can the volume be lowered? Yes the speaker volume can be adjusted by reprogramming the control panel.
My external box is looking weather worn, can it be replaced? Yes bell boxes do suffer from exposure to the elements and replacing these every 5 years is recommended, particularly as not only are they a visible deterrent but they contain a second battery back-up system as well as the siren and strobe unit.
Do you belong to a recognized governing body? Yes we are approved by the SSAIB (Security Systems Alarm Inspectorate Board)
