Monitoring and Servicing

In the past, most alarm systems that people installed were bell-only alarm systems, e.g. they made a noise. Their main function was to scare people away and act as a deterrent to the opportunist burglar. These then developed into dialler systems which would call your telephone number with an automated recording to let you know as and when your alarm went off. Alongside diallers, police-monitored systems were also devised so that you could have your alarm connected to a call centre. In the event of the alarm being triggered they would call the key holders, and if two detectors were set off the call centre would then notify the police. Although police-monitored systems seemed to offer great benefits to property owners and businesses, they often came as part of a servicing package that proved very expensive, costing around £30 per month or more. This lead to many people not being able to afford a monitoring service package, leaving their property still vulnerable.

Remote Monitoring

Nowadays, broadband and smartphones have changed everything. With some of the latest alarm systems, homeowners can effectively become their own monitoring station through an app on their phone. However, many home owners are still being left high and dry and are simply left to get on with it after their alarm system has been installed. It’s only when things go wrong or their alarm starts to annoy the neighbours that they realise they are on their own. At Midland Alarm Services, we believe in offering our customers a service package that takes care of your alarm and gives you peace of mind. That’s why we only use selected systems such as HKC Quantum range that allow for remote servicing and diagnostics and also let homeowners effectively become their own monitoring station through an app on their phone.

Servicing your Alarm System

From as little as £17.95 per month plus an initial one-off charge of £5.99 for the app, Midland Alarm Services can offer you our “Full Service Plan”,  a  monitoring package that not only gives you full control of your home security from any smartphone or tablet but also takes care of the servicing  for you. This includes remote support, where we can often fix problems and diagnose system faults remotely as well as remote and physical servicing including a 3 year visit to change all system batteries.

Mobile Monitoring Plan

For just £9.95 per month, you’ll get the following:

  • Access to the HKC SecureComm mobile app – (available from the App Store or Google Play – a one-off charge of £5.99 applies);
  • Full control from your mobile – control your home security system from any smartphone. Using the HKC SecureComm app you can:

    – Set and unset your system any time, any place, anywhere.
    – See who’s set or unset your system, ideal to see if family members have arrived home safely.

  • Alerts in sequence – you’ll get immediate notification to your mobile or tablet in sequence when a detector is triggered;
  • Image sequence sent to your mobile (PIR/Cam only) – if you have a passive infrared sensor with built-in camera (PIR/Cam) and your alarm is activated, the sensor will automatically photograph whatever is happening in your room in sequence and will send this to your mobile or tablet;
  • Insurance compliant – your insurance company will love you and you’ll be completely compliant with them – plus it’s additional proof that you have been broken into;
  • Remote support – We’ll proactively manage your alarm system remotely for you by:

    – Monitoring for any faults or problems
    – Using remote diagnostics to identify issues
    – Fixing faults remotely
    – Updating firmware for you

Full Service Plan

For £17.95 per month, you’ll get the following:

  • Priority call out – your call will be treated as a priority so we can get to you quicker;
  • Total coverage of your alarm system – giving you peace of mind.
